Richest cities in the United Kingdom

The United Kingdom is one of the most prominent and historically significant places in the world. With a long and complicated history, Britain has managed to accumulate a lot of wealth, and much of it is centered in England. If you have entered which cities in the UK are the richest, we have a list for you:

Birmingham

Birmingham is the second-largest city in the UK and is located in the heart of the island, in the West Midlands. The city has been important in Britain since the middle ages, but really began to take a more dominant role during the industrial revolution. Manufacturing has a huge sector, but nowadays the service sector dominates. The most notable manufacturing effort in Birmingham is the Jaguar Land Rover plant. Public administration, health and finance are amongst the biggest fields in the city and many large companies and government agencies have an office here. While not world-renowned for its culture, art, and architecture, Birmingham had a healthy and stable economy to offer to its citizens.

Manchester

Manchester seems to have begun its history as a Roman fort, in the West of modern-day England but began expanding and developing at a breakneck pace in the 19th century. It became the world’s first industrialized city, largely thanks to the textile manufacturing industry. Nowadays the city relies on a more diverse portfolio of economic assets, which makes it one of the best places to live in the UK. There is a great University, legendary football clubs, multiple corporate headquarters, and logistic centers. All of this helps to create a modern and well-performing economy for Manchester.

London

London is one of the largest, most famous, most visited, and most important cities in the world. It has been a major settlement since antiquity and its long history is much written about. As the largest city in the UK and the home of some of the best Universities and largest companies in the world, it should come as no surprise that London is wealthy. The notoriously expensive English capital is known for its financial sector, but there is also a booming tourism industry, IT, and culture sectors. London is where many of the brightest Brittons and Europeans find themselves at one point or another and its prominence on a global scale is clearly evident.
