There aren’t many places in the world like Florida. It contains something for everyone, with diverse and wealthy megacities, rural and conservative communities, great weather year-round, and an extensive coastline. Florida is one of the most visited places in the world and there are many good reasons for that. There is much to do and see in this state, more than any one article can illustrate, but if you are curious about what the richest cities in Florida are, keep on reading:
Orlando
Orlando is one of the most visited cities in the world, with around 70-80 million visitors every year, which dwarfs the population of 2.5 million in the Metro area. As you can imagine, with such massive tourism numbers, the city draws a lot of revenue from the visitors who stay at hotels, eat at restaurants and attend conventions. Disney World, combined with Universal and SeaWorld are massive draws for tourists, as well as the many golf courses around the city. Beyond the tourist industry, Orlando relies on the tech industry with Lockheed Martin, Boeing, and Siemens all having large offices here. All of these businesses bring in a lot of opportunities for business owners, as well as many well-paying jobs for the locals.
Miami
Miami is one of the most famous cities in the world, its portrayal in numerous movies, TV shows and video games has made it recognizable to almost everyone in the world. Just like Orlando, Miami has a massive tourism industry with tens of millions of tourists visiting every year, which brings in billions to the local economy. A large part of those tourists come from cruise ships that stop at the port of Miami. Just like any large city in the US, Miami is the home of many multinational corporations and offices of numerous Fortune 500 companies can be found here. In the last few years the city has also been experiencing a tech boom, with programmers, developers and entrepreneurs from all around the United States moving here.
Palm Beach
Palm Beach is a rather small town, with about 9000 permanent residents, located on an island, just off the coast of West Palm Beach. This narrow strip of land is one of the wealthiest in the United States, with more than 30 billionaires residing here. The former presidents John F. Kennedy and Donald Trump have both lived here, and many celebrities also have houses in Palm Beach. The town itself does not have much of an industry or economic activity, beyond some tourism, but the amazing weather, great beaches and affluent neighborhoods make it a dream spot to live in. As you can imagine, the real estate here is some of the most expensive in the world.
