Mexico city is one of the largest cities in the world, and certainly worth checking out. It’s so big, it’s hard to describe it as a single entity. If you have ever been there, it is apparent that there are disparities between the poor and the rich. However, here we’ll only focus on wealth and affluence. Keep on reading for the richest areas in Mexico City:
La Condesa
Condesa is known for its enchanting architecture and creative spirit. The district is very popular with younger people and better-off residents of Mexico City. The streets are filled with restaurants, cafes, and bars and there is always something cool to see and do around the corner. If you enjoy the bohemian lifestyle and want to be surrounded by colorful buildings and greenery, this is the neighborhood for you.
Santa Fe
Santa Fe is the business district of Mexico City, filled with skyscrapers, office buildings, and business people walking around. While there’s some criticism regarding the lack of proper infrastructure in the area, Santa Fe continues to grow and develop and many people work and live there. The area feels modern and Westerns and is also the home of the biggest shopping mall in Mexico. While not extremely popular with tourists, Santa Fe is an iconic district for Mexico City.
Polanco
Polanco is one of the most affluent areas in Mexico, and many people call it the Beverly Hills of Mexico City. While that is a bit over the top, the area is very rich and filled with luxury boutiques, nice villas, and fancy restaurants. On top of that, you have a lot of embassies in the area, which adds to the international and affluent vibe of the area. If you have money and want to live around high net-worth individuals, you should definitely live here. Otherwise, you could just take a stroll.
Centro Historico
Like with most other cities, the city center of Mexico is the most expensive and popular area. Here you’ll find many of the popular tourist landmarks, like Palacio Nacional and Plaza de Santo Domingo, and the Palacio de Bellas Artes. If you are visiting the city for just a few days, defiantly check the Centro Historico out. If you plan on staying longer, however, do consider staying in another of the districts on this list.
