Most Expensive Areas in Jakarta

Jakarta is Indonesia’s capital, and the country’s economic, political and cultural center. The city is massive, with tens of millions of people living in the city proper, or the surrounding areas. It’s easy to get lost in such a huge city and most foreigners can’t comprehend the scale or different neighborhoods. For that reason we have a list of the richest areas of Jakarta, you can find them below:

Pantai Indah Kapuk

In the north of Jakarta, close to the Taman Wisata Alam Mangrove, Angke Kapuk nature reserve, you will find the Pantai Indah Kapuk gated community. It’s one of the most affluent and exclusive areas of the city and many of Indonesia’s richest choose to live here. Nearby you will find a golf club and some pretty amazing nature. There aren’t many bars in the restaurants, there are some, but it’s a nice area to visit and have a walk-in. There is also an aquapark in the vicinity.

Pondok Indah

Pondok Indah is located in southern Jakarta, and it’s an urban residential area. Here you will find massive shopping centers, as well as a golf course and a waterpark. Besides those amenities, this is largely a residential area that doesn’t have too many bars or landmarks but is very organized and well kept, compared to some other parts of Jakarta. Here you will also find many highrises and office buildings. Overall, this area is very well connected with the rest of the city and a great spot to live in.

Menteng

Menteng is located in central Jakarta and is the heart of the city. Here you will find landmarks like the Selamat Datang Monument and Taman Suropati park. On top of that, many of the great restaurants that Jakarta has to offer are all located here. For tourists, Menteng should be the main point of interest in the city, as it combines the city’s colonial history with a lot of greenery and parks. It’s a great area for a walk or to have a nice meal in.
