Laptop Friendly Cafes in Vienna

The crown jewel of the Austro-Hungarian empire is one of the coolest cities in Europe. Vienna combines the old and the modern and it’s full of work-friendly cafes, where you can get some work done while sipping on a delicious coffee. And considering they have an old coffeehouse culture, they have a lot of places to choose from. Luckily for you, we have compiled a list of the best, laptop-friendly cafes in Vienna, Austria:

Balthasar Coffee Bar

Balthasar is by far the best coffee shop in the Praterstern area. The coffee is amazing and some of the best you can find in the city, while the atmosphere is friendly. There are almost always people working on their laptops there, so you won’t fill out of place. Balthasar also has some good food, if you decide to have lunch or breakfast while working. They have a few power sockets too, in case you need that. The address is Praterstraße 38 and they are open every day, except for Sunday.

Coffee Junkie

Coffee Junkie is a cool, cozy place that has an easygoing atmosphere. The coffee is good and you will meet as many locals as tourists there, which is always a good sign. The only issue you might encounter is that they are small, but with some luck, you should be able to get a comfy place to sit down. It’s probably your best bet if you find yourself in that part of town, so definitely check it out if you are in the area. They are open every day and you can find them at Pilgramgasse 3.

phil

phil is the definition of a hipster place. You can get some good coffee, get some work done on your laptop and buy a book. The interior design is what sets it apart from the rest. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel cool and gets the creative juices flowing. A lot of people go there to work or read, but during the evenings and weekends, it gets pretty busy. The WiFi is pretty stable. They are open from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m., except for Mondays when they open at 5 p.m. Their address is Gumpendorfer Str. 10 – 12.

Sneak In

This is more of a brunch/buffet place, but you can definitely just get some coffee and do your work or study. Of course, if you feel like combining your work with a great meal this is a good place to do that. They have WiFi and a lot of seating options, especially in the afternoon. It’s also partially a clothing store if you feel like doing some shopping after a hard day of staring at a computer. The address is Siebensterngasse 12 and they are open every day, but Monday.

Kaffemik

If you are walking down the Mariahilfer Strasse, you will see a lot of cafes, but the truth is most of them are touristy and not chill for doing work. Kaffemik is a tiny coffee shop, but the coffee is amazing and if you manage to get a seat outside, it’s definitely recommended. The street is a classical Viennese one, but it isn’t all too busy and on a sunny day you could do some great work over there. You can find them at Zollergasse 5 and they are open every day.
