Laptop Friendly Cafes in Lyon

France’s third-largest city is the perfect combination between authentically French and modern. You will find the classic French cafes, that you see in the promotional material, but you also have a bunch of cool, modern, work-friendly cafes. If you are looking for a great spot, with good WiFi, we have just the list for you:

Slake Coffee House

Slake has a really cool, exposed stone interior design, which gives it a cool vibe to work from. The dark, vintage look is great and the cafe has wide and comfortable seating, in case you need to spend a few hours doing work there. It can get busy in the afternoon, but in the mornings it’s a great and very work-friendly place. They are open every day and you can find them at 9 Rue de l’Ancienne Préfecture .

La Boîte à Café

This is a small and cozy coffee shop, where you can meet a lot of locals, as well as fellow workaholics. The interior is that of your typical hipster cafe, and you will certainly meet a bunch of people working there. The internet is pretty good, and the only point of improvement we have would be to add more power sockets. Oh, and the coffee here is truly amazing, so definitely check it out if you’re a coffee-lover, even if you don’t bring your laptop. The address is 3 Rue de l’Abbé Rozier and they are open every single day.

Puzzle Cafe

Puzzle is a really cool, modern place that seems to attract a predominantly working crowd. There are always people working on a laptop there and you will feel very comfortable working or studying in this cafe. On top of the usual coffees that you can find everywhere these days, you can also grab some nice French pastries. It should go without saying, but the WiFi is pretty good. You can find them at 4 Rue de la Poulaillerie and they are open every day, but Sunday.

Le Luminarium

This website is very coffee centered, but Le Luminarium is actually a pretty good tea spot. They have coffee and all kinds of sweets, but tea is arguably better. The design is pretty unique and odd, but in a good way. It will certainly put you in a creative mood. As with most cafes in Lyon, the internet is good and you will meet a bunch of people working on their laptops there. The exact address is 9 Rue des 3 Maries and they are open every day.
